(Dec 30, 2005) Championship Auto Racing Teams Inc. (CART) stockholders have approved final liquidation plans. CART filed for bankruptcy in December 2003, after losing nearly $78 million in the first nine months that year, and sold its racing assets to Champ Car. CART broke away from the US Auto Club in 1978. In 1996 the emergence of the Indy Racing League caused CART to lose fans and sponsors.
