BBC Sport: Tuesday, 9 January, 2001: Kournikova denies Hingis rift
Russian tennis star Anna Kournikova has denied reports she has fallen out with Martina Hingis after the world number one dumped her as her doubles partner. Hingis announced last week she would be ending her highly successful partnership with Kournikova to link up with Monica Seles. But Kournikova played down talk of a rift, claiming: "A lot of players change partners all the time. This is our sport and that's just the way it is. "It's not like a break-up, it's just that we've both got different partners," the 19-year-old Russian said. "It's not like we're never going to see each other or talk to each other."

CBS SportsLine: August 23, 2001: Doctor: Kournikova should rest foot for three months
BERLIN -- Anna Kournikova needs at least a three-month break before making her comeback from a foot injury. "Only when the stress fracture completely heals can Anna play tennis without pain again," her doctor, Hubert Hoerterer, said in an interview with Germany's Sport1 website. "It'll definitely take another three months before Anna can go on court to play in a tournament. Anything else would be unwise, because otherwise the injury could flare up again."
