About WTA Post-Match Press Conferences:

At each tournament there are at least two pleasant WTA Tour "public relations coordinators" on hand to escort the players from the court to the locker room and then to the press interview room. They do this cheerfully and efficiently, but with the covert alertness of wardens making sure that the jailbirds don't make a break for it en route to the chapel.     Attendance at post-match press conferences is obligatory. These group sessions make it easier for reporters to do their jobs, and they are a good public relations tool for the tour.
